Whereas There is an alarming concern among the students of the Brazos Dormitory about the availability of food in the University Center; and
Whereas Many students who live in the dorms have a meal card and can't use it when the food establishments are closed; and
Whereas The food establishments currently close at 6:00 pm during the weekdays, except for Pizza Hut (not owned by ARA Food Services); and
Whereas From a campus safety standpoint, with the food establishment closings at 6:00, it would be unwise to walk around trying to find a place to eat; and
Whereas The members of the Brazos Dorm Council indicated that the GrillWorks cafe offered a greater variety of on-campus cuisine.
Be It Further Resolved That The GrillWorks in the University Center remain open until 10 p.m. during the week (Mon-Fri) for a 30-DAY TRIAL PERIOD; and
Be It Further Resolved That From a cost standpoint, if it is proven to not have the financial support of the students community, the GrillWorks in the University Center will return to its current hours; and
Be It Further Resolved That ARA publicize the trial hours to the residents of Brazos Dorm and Lipscomb Hall (since these are the closest to the UC) to make the best use of this opportunity.
