Remarks FAILED
Whereas The University of Texas At Arlington is included in the UT System and therefore subject to the policies of the UT System; and
Whereas It is stated in the UT System non-discrimination policies that "in addition to compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regualtions, no person is be subject to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation regarding admissions, employment or access to programs, facilities or services of the University of Texas System;" and
Whereas Students at UTA who are of various races, religions, culuters, ages, physical abilities, who are of either sex, or who are interested in specific issues can take undergraduate classes dealing specifically with these issues. **Examples of 19 different classes were given.**
Whereas Lesbians and gays and people who are interested in lesbian/gay issues are denied access to equal education by the fact that classes dealing specifically with lesbain/gay issues are not offered.
Be It Further Resolved That UTA be required to offer at least one undergraduate class per academic year dealing specifically with lesbain/gay issues.
