| Whereas | The Java City located in the Central Library has limited operating hours from 7:45 AM to 6:30 PM; and |
| Whereas | The Central Library is open to students 142 hours per week, 24 hours a day from Monday through 8:00 PM Friday; and |
| Whereas | This area of campus has become a large study area before 7:45 AM past the hours of 6:30. For example, on Tuesday, January 27th, 145 people entered the library between 6:00 and 8:00 AM.; and |
| Whereas | Of the 45,000 persons that enter the library each week, some students would enjoy the taste of a nice coffee or cappuccino while studying before class or in the evenings. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Dining Services extend the hours of operation of the Central Library Java City from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. |
