Whereas Many students everyday are nearly hit by a car and/or have difficulty crossing the street via the crosswalk at the intersection of UTA Boulevard and Yates Street.
Whereas Studies, such as the one attached, have shown that crosswalks with in-pavement flashing warning lights increase visibility and pedestrian safety.
Be It Further Resolved That The crosswalk at the intersection of UTA Boulevard and Yates Street be equipped with manual triggered in-pavement flashing warning lights to increase safety for students who cross the street via this crosswalk.
