Whereas If a resident is locked out of their suite/room, they can check out a temporary card without being fined for the first two times. After the second time, they are charged a $5 increments.
Whereas If a resident has lost his card and bought a new MavID, his card will not work for up to two business days.
Whereas If a resident checks out a temporary card under this circumstance, some residence halls will fine the resident for that.
Whereas If a resident has paid to buy a new card, it is not their fault that MavExpress takes time to activate the card.
Be It Further Resolved That The residence halls that fine their residents for checking out a temporary card in the circumstance mentioned above, should not fine them.
Be It Further Resolved That Policies regarding fines be standardized throughout all residence halls.
