Remarks The University is already investigating the possibility of requiring all residence halls to be on a meal plan.
Whereas With the rising cost of tuition, textbooks, parking permits, and gas prices, the students who currently live in the Arlington and Kalpana Chawla Residence Halls pay the highest housing rates and also have to purchase a meal plan; and
Whereas rates for KC Hall residents per both Fall and Spring Semesters are: Double Occupancy room: $3,630 and Private Occupancy room: $4,910; and
Whereas Housing rates for Arlington Hall residents per both Fall and Spring Semesters are: Double Occupancy room: $3,580 and Private Occupancy room: $4,860; and
Whereas Meal plan rates range from $1,410 to $1,260 per semester.
Be It Further Resolved That The meal plan requirement included with staying in either Arlington or KC residence halls should be removed to help provide some financial relief and all the residence halls have fair requirements for living in the residence halls.
