| Whereas | The University Police Department operates the shuttle bus system as a service to the faculty, staff and students of the University; and |
| Whereas | This system is paid for by the parking fees paid by the majority of staff, faculty and students at UTA; and |
| Whereas | The current system, although not perfect, provides a much needed service; and |
| Whereas | However, due to the hours of operation of the shuttle bus system, many student employees as well as staff members are unable to utilize the shuttle bus system to return to their cars after work; and |
| Whereas | Currently, the shuttle bus hours of operation end at 5:00PM; and |
| Whereas | By extending the hours of operation by just fifteen to thirty minutes the Police Department could greatly enhance the number of individuals able to take advantage of this service. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The hours of operation of the shuttle bus system be extended so that the last round trip begins no earlier than 5:15PM, if not later. |
