Whereas | Each parking lot on campus has been given a designation by the University Police Department such as S-37 for the lot north of the University Center, F-10 for the faculty lot south of the life science building, etc; and |
Whereas | This system, while convenient for the police department, makes it difficult for visitors, students, etc to determine which parking lot is which. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The University begin renaming all parking lots on campus with more memorable names; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | These names be based on famous alumni and friends of the University or well-known place names in the state of Texas or items relating to the history of the University or a similar scheme deemed appropriate; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | The University shall not lose the numbering system, but adopt a naming system in conjunction, and that a process is developed to determine funding expectations for lot names. |
