Whereas | the UT Arlington Community has recognized the inherent problems associated with individuals smoking within 50 feet of building entrances and building air intakes; and |
Whereas | The current policy or prohibiting smoking within 50 feet of building entrances and building air intakes has not been adequately enforced; and |
Whereas | Student Congress believes that the Administration should accomodate all members of the UT Arlington Community; and |
Whereas | The Tobacco Free Campus Initiative has asked for student feedback on creating a tobacco-free campus. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The current smoking policy is more stringently enforced before making any further restrictions to tobacco use on campus; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | The Tobacco Free Campus Initiative revisit this policy and any additional restrictions after at least one academic year of stringent enforcement. |
