Remarks
Whereas the UT Arlington Community has recognized the inherent problems associated with individuals smoking within 50 feet of building entrances and building air intakes; and
Whereas The current policy or prohibiting smoking within 50 feet of building entrances and building air intakes has not been adequately enforced; and
Whereas Student Congress believes that the Administration should accomodate all members of the UT Arlington Community; and
Whereas The Tobacco Free Campus Initiative has asked for student feedback on creating a tobacco-free campus.
Be It Further Resolved That The current smoking policy is more stringently enforced before making any further restrictions to tobacco use on campus; and
Be It Further Resolved That The Tobacco Free Campus Initiative revisit this policy and any additional restrictions after at least one academic year of stringent enforcement.
