Whereas Due to the state legislature removing much funding from higher education in general and UTA in particular, the University was forced to significantly increase tuition; and
Whereas The largest of the announced increases will occur this fall; and
Whereas Some students first found out about the increases when they received their bill for the spring; and
Whereas During the tuition consultation process last fall the administration announced specific intentions for the increased revenue to be collected this semester and this fall; and
Whereas The University's budget is very complex and can be difficult to understand; and
Whereas Many students are interested to see how this money has been spent.
Be It Further Resolved That This fall the administration make available a report to the general public and the student body detailing how much revenue was generated by the tuition increases and how this revenue has been spent along with the original information presented during the tuition consultation process; and
Be It Further Resolved That The University have several highly publicized open meetings on campus in an area such as Texas Hall, the Lonestar Auditorium or the Rosebud Theater at various times during the day to include as many students as possible to present this report and take questions from the student body.
