Remarks
Whereas The University has recently outlined some of its 'Mavericks Go Green' initiatives, one of which is waste reduction; and
Whereas Examples of waste reduction initiatives include UT Arlington employees switching to 'paperless' earning statements and professors no longer providing paper copies of syllabi to their students (they are available online); and
Whereas The current default settings for documents to be printed on campus include the printing of jobs on one side per sheet of paper, also know as 'single-sided.'
Be It Further Resolved That The default settings for documents to be printed be changed to print in duplex, also know as 'double-sided' (to reduce waste and the current associated costs of printing jobs) on all printers that are capable of printing double-sided, while maintaining the option for single-sided printing; and
Be It Further Resolved That the Office of Information Technology disseminate information regarding this change via emailing members of the University community; and
Be It Further Resolved That OIT explore the option of adding a pop-up window to provide additional convenience to users.
