Remarks
Whereas Student organizations and departments are allowed to reserve rooms a year in advance through the Cosmic Calendar and months in advance through the University Center Operations; and
Whereas Some student organizations and departments reserve blocks of rooms for various dates; and
Whereas Some of the rooms that have been reserved are not used but they are not released in a timely manner; and
Whereas Room turnover time by the University Center Operations limits room availability; and
Whereas Other student organizations and departments cannot find suitable rooms for their events.
Be It Further Resolved That Student Congress investigate the use and the current policies of the Cosmic Calendar, room turnover, and the University Center Operations; and
Be It Further Resolved That A limit be placed on the number of rooms on various dates that a student organization or department may reserve; and
Be It Further Resolved That Rooms that have been reserved but are not going to be used, be released in a timely manner. Smaller conference rooms be released 5 business days prior to the event and larger rooms like Bluebonnet be released 20 business days prior to the event. If not the department or organization will incur late fees; and
Be It Further Resolved That No more than 30 minutes to an hour turnover time be allowed unless larger accommodations are needed such as larger rooms, catering, audio, etc.
