Whereas Many students do not have the daily funds to buy drinks from either the vending machines or the food service centers provided to UTA students every day; and
Whereas Drinking fountains on campus do not flow properly which forces many students to touch the fountain with their lips in order to get a drink of water which is very unsanitary; and
Whereas Many students are concerned with the current spread of illnesses (e.g., the flu, swine flu, colds, etc.).
Whereas Many students refuse to use the drinking fountains at UTA for fear of contracting an illness, despite being on campus for a number of hours without access to any free hydrating liquids to drink other than the water fountains.
Be It Further Resolved That The water pressure be fixed on these drinking fountains in order to provide adequate service for UTA students, a relatively easy fix to a current student concern; and
Be It Further Resolved That This change would aid in preventing the spread of illness to students on campus.
