Remarks There are childcare facilities that are near campus, including ones that offer UTA students discounts.
Whereas Student parents make up a large percentage of the student population; and
Whereas Many professors do not allow students to bring children to class; and
Whereas No student should be denied the right to pursue a higher education because their children cannot be cared for during school hours; and
Whereas The funding for childcare services offered to student parents runs out in May 2010.
Be It Further Resolved That More federal grants be sought out to aid student parents, or a day care service be established at UTA to take care of the children of student parents while they are in class.
