| Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington labors to ensure the security of students, staff, faculty and guests through enforcement of traffic and parking regulations; and |
| Whereas | The students of UT Arlington are grateful for the services provided by the UT Arlington Police Department and campus administration; and |
| Whereas | There is a safety concern for students who park in Lots 49 and 50 who must cross Doug Russell Road, as drivers do not always adhere to posted speed limits and pedestrians are not always given the right of way. |
