Remarks
Whereas Graduation is a time of celebration and recognition for those who have successfully completed all requirements set forth towards earning a degree;
Whereas Returning to UTA to pick up diplomas is not always an option for students who move away from DFW following graduation;
Whereas Pending job offers and other obligations after graduation can make it difficult to provide a reliable address for diplomas to be mailed to once they're printed, further delaying graduates from receiving their diploma;
Whereas Receiving diplomas ar graduation creates more of an incentive for elgible candidates to actually participate in the commencement ceremonies and make the day feel even more meaningful and memorable versus just receiving a commencement memento.
Be It Further Resolved That A system be implemented, such a degree audit team, which oversees the review of final semester class completion for all candidates participating in the commencement ceremonies;
Be It Further Resolved That If needed an expedited process be implemented for the submission of grades for those individuals who are candidates for graduation, so such grades could be reviewed prior to commencement ceremonies in effort to award all worthy candidates their diploma at graduation.
