| Whereas | Some students live on-campus housing or work on-campus during the summer months without being enrolled in classes; |
| Whereas | Since they are not enrolled in summer classes, these students are not given access to the MAC; |
| Whereas | It is often too hot for students to workout outside during the summer and many are unable to afford other gym memberships; |
| Whereas | These students are providing some benefit to the university(through rent and labor) and deserve a safe place to excercise; |
| Whereas | The Maverick Activities Center no longer has usage fees; |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Students living in on-campus housing or employed by the university during the summer be given free access to the MAC without being required to enroll in summer classes. |
