Remarks
Whereas The current advising system of "first come, first serve" is very time-consuming. A student must show up early and sit around waiting to meet with an advisor.
Whereas Meeting with an advisor usually takes less than fifteen minutes.
Whereas A student may wait over an hour to be seen by an advisor.
Whereas A student that takes time out of their day to show up to an advising appointment may not even get the chance to speak with their advisor, which would require them to come back another day.
Whereas Implementing an online system for students to set up advising appointments would make the process much more efficient for both the advisor and the student.
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington implement a university wide, online sign-up system for advising appointments that would allow students to schedule an advising appointment prior to meeting with an advisor.
