Whereas | The online system SNAP Jobs, through which students can apply for employment at the university, does not allow students to contact departments directly; and |
Whereas | Students are left to wait for the departments to contact them regarding their applications without knowing anything about their status of their application; and |
Whereas | Although we understand the reason why they cannot contact them directly we still feel they should receive notification they did not receive a position; and |
Whereas | The waiting time prevents students who think they might still be contacted from looking for employment somewhere else. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The University of Texas at Arlington seek the means to enforce a policy that requires departments to notify student applicants of their candidacy status in a timely manner. |
