Remarks
Whereas The online system SNAP Jobs, through which students can apply for employment at the university, does not allow students to contact departments directly; and
Whereas Students are left to wait for the departments to contact them regarding their applications without knowing anything about their status of their application; and
Whereas Although we understand the reason why they cannot contact them directly we still feel they should receive notification they did not receive a position; and
Whereas The waiting time prevents students who think they might still be contacted from looking for employment somewhere else.
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington seek the means to enforce a policy that requires departments to notify student applicants of their candidacy status in a timely manner.
