Remarks
Whereas UTA has a significant population of students with disabilities; and
Whereas More than 1000 students are registered with Office for Students with Disabilities; and
Whereas These students interact with Faculty/Staff and Student employees on a daily basis and sometimes these employees of the university don't know how to communicate effectively with the students with disabilities; and
Whereas This leads to Faculty/Staff and Student employees be unable to deal with the situation efficiently which leads to uneasy circumstances for the students with disabilities; and
Whereas Improper treatment of students with disabilities by university employees can also put great liability on the institution
Be It Further Resolved That The ADA Compliance Training at UT Arlington reflects the needs and concerns of the University employees and students
Be It Further Resolved That the University of Texas at Arlington compliance training to incorporate findings from the focus group as organized by the Office Human Resources
