Remarks The Student Senate felt that this resolution would greatly benefit students interested in attending health professional schools, such as medical school, after their undergraduate and a pre-health advisor would be able to guide such students through the processes needed to help them succeed.
Whereas The University of Texas at Arlington prides itself on its growing population of College of Science students; and
Whereas Many of these students have declared themselves are pre-professional students (pre-medicine, pre-dental, pre-pharm, pre-veterinarian, and etc); and
Whereas Many of these pre-professional routes have many pre-requisites that students must complete during their undergraduate career before applying to professional schools; and
Whereas Many students are the first in their family to declare a pre-professional route or plan to go to professional school after graduating; and
Whereas The College of Science has submitted a proposal to the Provost's office to create a pre-med and pre-health advising office.
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington Student Government support the College of Science's proposal to establish a pre-health advisor for pre-health students to garner resources and have access to pre-health advisors.
