Remarks
Whereas The University of Texas at Arlington’s student employees are paid an average hourly wage of approximately $11; however, there are still 594 students between the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 and $10, and;
Whereas The University of Texas at Arlington has recently launched a salary study for of faculty, graduate assistants, and staff employees to help improve equity, and;
Whereas The University of Texas at Arlington should continue those efforts and pay student workers a sustainable wage that will correlate to the living expenses for the area;
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington consider implementing a new minimum wage for all student employment ranging from at least $10 to $15, based off what is most feasible and cost-efficient for the university; and
Be It Further Resolved That The current minimum wage is subject to regular review by the University of Texas at Arlington to reflect the then current cost of living to improve equity for students.
