Remarks
Whereas Education should be more accessible to students with different needs; and
Whereas Buildings at The University of Texas of Arlington should be built to provide optimal student participation opportunities for wheelchair users; and
Whereas Creating new classrooms and structures within older buildings has proven to be costly; and
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington must ensure that every classroom and elevator in newly constructed buildings and future renovations of any future buildings comply with ADA codes and requirements; and
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington must, in newly constructed buildings and future renovations, to the extent possible, allow adequate accessibility for mobility device users to be able to be present at the front of the classroom without need of assistance.
