| Whereas | The Residence Hall Handbook states “Authorized University personnel, University approved contractors, government inspectors, or law enforcement officers may enter the premises for the purpose of inspection, maintenance, pest control, suspected policy violations, or delivery of notices under reasonable and restrained conditions,” and |
| Whereas | Students accept that inspections will be conducted without prior warning, but should not need to accept a lack of notice for other situations; and |
| Whereas | For all other times in which maintenance must enter student rooms there is no need to enter without warning; and |
| Whereas | Maintenance personnel entering student rooms during non-inspection visits can be a privacy concern; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | For all times when maintenance must enter student dorms in the residence halls on campus (Arlington, KC, Vandergriff, and West) for reasons other than safety inspections, such as pest control, etc., the University of Texas at Arlington provide notice of when they will come, including the date and a time frame. |
