Remarks IMPLEMENTED - This resolution was amended to state that the Welcome Week would start with move-in day during the Thursday before school starts.
Whereas Many other universities such as Baylor University and Texas A&M University celebrate Welcome Week during the week prior to the first day of classes of the fall semester; and
Whereas The UTA Ambassadors currently sponsor 'Ask-Me' Days during the first two days of the fall and spring semesters to help incoming freshmen and transfer students transition into life at UTA; and
Whereas Incoming students would benefit from having the opportunity to meet other students and become acquainted with UTA before school actually begins; and
Whereas The UTA Ambassadors find it difficult to work 'Ask-Me' Days after their classes have already begun.
Be It Further Resolved That The University sponsor a Welcome Week during the week immediately preceding the first day of classes of the fall semester to give students a chance to move in, learn their way around UTA and get prepared for the first day of classes.
