| Whereas | Approximately 10,000 students reside either on campus or in the vicinity of the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), necessitating reliable transportation services to attend their classes; and |
| Whereas | UTA currently offers the Mav Mover services, which are thoughtfully divided into various routes to accommodate students living in diverse directions from UTA, thereby facilitating their commute; and |
| Whereas | the current operational hours of the Mav Mover services are limited, with most routes ceasing at 6 pm, which does not cater to the needs of students with classes extending into the evening; and |
| Whereas | a significant portion of the student population does not have access to personal vehicles, rendering them heavily reliant on the Mav Mover services for their transportation needs; |
| Whereas | alternative transportation options such as Uber and Zipcar impose a financial burden on students due to their high costs; |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The University of Texas at Arlington increase the operational hours of all Mav Mover routes to better accommodate the schedules of students attending evening classes; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The operational hours for the Red route and green route be extended until 11 pm, to ensure students attending the latest classes have a reliable means of transportation; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The university expands the Mav Mover service routes to include additional stops at nearby international food stores, such as Fiesta, and to extend service to these stores and Walmart weekends. |
