| Whereas | During the recent Student Congress Night Walk, senators discovered six broken emergency call boxes; and |
| Whereas | On each emergency call box there is a light which glows solid blue when the call box is functioning and flashes when the call box is activated; and |
| Whereas | The police department operates the Sam Maverick Ride service which involves golf carts traveling across the campus during the night; and |
| Whereas | The drivers of these golf carts could easily note, as they are driving by, if the blue light is lit on any and all of the call boxes. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Each cart in the Sam Maverick Ride program be assigned an area of campus and be responsible for confirming each evening that the light on each call box in that area is lit; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | If any call box's light is not lit, the driver of the cart notifies the police department immediately. |
