Patrick Alcorn, UTA VBOC Director, and Army veteran, along with the UTA VBOC team will use the funding to hire, train, and educate the Nevada center. “As of the 2020 census, veterans own 6% of U.S. small businesses,” states Alcorn. “We hope to inspire and provide knowledge and resources that assist transitioning veterans, disabled veterans, National Guard, active and reserve members, and their spouses.”

“The center will empower up to 1,500 military-connected entrepreneurs in Nevada and will increase the awareness of and facilitate access to programs and resources through direct collaboration with the University of Nevada Reno and the University of Nevada Las Vegas,” said Alcorn.
