Community Service Restitution

Tarrant County Juvenile Services

BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice

He is interning with Tarrant County Juvenile Services and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Part of Community Service Restitution (CSR), Jakerian shadows probation officers and assists youth on court-ordered community service. He also gets to work with other departments.

“I’ve worked with multiple units, including MHMR, Sex Offending, and Electronic Monitoring. I even get to sit in on court hearings and observe the legal side of things.” Jakerian says. “This experience is extremely useful. It has given me real world insight and hands-on exposure to juvenile justice. Something I would not get in a classroom setting. Being able to observe court hearings, home & school visits, and detention center interactions has helped me connect what I learn academically to actual practice.”

Following graduation, Jakerian plans to pursue a career as a juvenile probation officer.

Congratulations on your outstanding internship experience, Jakerian!
