Academic Programs Update

Over the past academic year, UTA leadership has reviewed our academic portfolio, led by faculty and academic leaders through the interdisciplinary Academic Program Futures Working Group and guided by UTA Policy PRS-PO-02. This work is anchored in our strategic plan, our commitment to student success, and our responsibility to ensure that our academic offerings provide meaningful impact for the state of Texas.
Faculty engagement and data-driven analysis have shaped this effort. A representative working group conducted a multi-phase review of academic programs using clearly defined criteria, including student demand, student success, post-graduation outcomes, and financial efficiency. Programs identified for further review engaged directly in the process, providing context, responding to data, and contributing to discussions that shaped the final recommendations.
All currently enrolled and admitted students will be able to complete their degrees without disruption. UTA will provide a comprehensive teach-out plan, individualized advising, and clear options to transition into other programs for students who decide to change majors.

Suspending new admissions into the following programs:
