Winter Weather

A winter storm is expected to impact the Dallas/Fort Worth area from Friday night, Jan. 23, through Monday, Jan. 26. Classes will shift to online Saturday, Jan. 24. Additional decisions affecting campus are listed below. 

Friday, Jan. 23

  • All campus offices will be open normal hours 
  • The Maverick Activities Center (MAC) will close at 8 p.m. 
  • All parking lots and garages will be open parking with any valid parking permit 
  • Late night security escort service will close early 
  • MavMover shuttle buses will end service at 9 p.m. 
  • Canceled events include:
    • The Wheelchair Basketball Tournament 
    • The Maverick All-Nighter  
    • RET Field Trip (Alma Martinez Intermediate School STEM Activity) 
  • The College of Science Student-Faculty Mixer is postponed until Jan. 30

 

Saturday, Jan. 24 

  • AO Nursing will continue as scheduled 
  • The MAC is closed 
  • All parking lots and garages will be open parking with any valid parking permit 
  • Late night security escort service will be closed 
  • MavMover shuttle buses will not operate 
  • Canceled events include:
    • The Wheelchair Basketball Tournament 
    • ROTC Training 
    • Women's Tennis vs. UTRGV 
    • Center for Healthy Living and Longevity Community Engagement Event

 

Sunday, Jan. 25

  • The MAC is closed 
  • All parking lots and garages will be open parking with any valid parking permit 
  • Late night security escort service will be closed 
  • MavMover shuttle buses will not operate 
  • Canceled events include: 
    • Big Howdy 
    • ROTC Training
