CMAS lecture series in its 20th year welcomes Isa
The Center for Mexican American Studies at The University of Texas at Arlington will host its 20th anniversary Distinguished Lecture on Feb. 25, featuring Isa, internationally followed speech therapist and cofounder and host of Aprende Peque, a popular educational YouTube channel focusing on early childhood development.
The bilingual lecture, “Creciendo, Sintiendo y Cantando en Español con Aprende Peque” (Growing, Feeling, and Singing in Spanish with Aprende Peque) will begin at 6 p.m. in the Rosebud Theatre. The event is free and open to the community.

Isa Muñoz, known simply as Isa, will share the story behind Aprende Peque, an educational entertainment platform for infants and children founded by Latina women in the United States. Drawing on her experience, she will discuss the importance of early childhood exposure to Spanish, passing down Latin culture and traditions, and providing fun and meaningful learning environments. She will also highlight the educational and social impact Aprende Peque has had on thousands of families.
“Welcoming Isa, who has a tremendous international following, to deliver the CMAS Distinguished Lecture underscores how culturally rooted education can strengthen bilingual-bicultural learning, empower parents and families of all backgrounds and celebrate our community’s heritage,” said Xavier Medina Vidal, director of CMAS.
Aprende Peque is a Spanish language educational platform for children from birth to age 5. With more than 1 million YouTube subscribers, the fully Spanish-language channel supports early language, cognitive and emotional development in an engaging, meaningful and culturally affirming way.
Isa is an early childhood educator and speech language specialist with more than a decade of experience working with young children and their families. She has focused her career on language development and neurocognitive, social and emotional growth during the critical early years.
“This 20th anniversary milestone affirms our commitment to bringing transformative voices to UTA and North Texas,” Dr. Medina Vidal said.
