UTA graduate schools earn national recognition

Engineering, nursing and business rank among U.S. News’ best graduate schools

The University of Texas at Arlington continues to be recognized among the nation’s top universities for graduate education, with several programs earning distinction in the U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Graduate Schools rankings.

UT Arlington’s highlights include:

  • College of Nursing and Health Innovation (master’s program) ranked No. 56
  • College of Engineering ranked No. 71, up from No. 81
  • College of Business (part-time MBA) ranked No. 74

“These rankings reflect what our students and employers already know: UTA prepares graduates who are ready to work, lead and make an immediate impact,” UTA President Jennifer Cowley said. “From advancing flight and technology to strengthening health care in our communities, we take seriously our role in developing the workforce our region and state depend on.”

Two graduate programs placed among the top 50 in their respective disciplines: aerospace engineering at No. 44 and nursing at No. 50.

Engineering climbed 10 spots in the rankings, driven by gains in quality assessments, student selectivity and research expenditures. The engineering program ranked No. 4 among all Texas institutions, behind only UT Austin, Texas A&M and Rice University.

UTA’s College of Education was also recognized, ranking No. 171. The program saw improvements in peer assessment, doctoral student metrics and research activity.

UTA offers more than 125 master’s and doctoral degree tracks and 49 graduate certificate programs, equipping students for advanced careers through research, scholarship and professional practice.
