UTA alumna’s gift advances career readiness, global learning for students.

A $2.5 million commitment from University of Texas at Arlington alumna Dr. Jacqualyn (Jackie) Fouse will enhance career preparation and accelerate global learning experiences for UTA College of Business students.

The gift includes $1.5 million to launch and support a dedicated College of Business Career Services Center and $1 million to sustain the Jack and Doris Fouse Study Abroad Program from 2026 through 2030.

“UTA’s College of Business is a place where giving translates directly into opportunity for students because of how the college works with donors to keep students at the center of all it does,” said Fouse, who earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the College of Business. “Working with the college over the years has allowed me to better appreciate student needs and how my giving can support faculty and staff in implementing valuable, sustainable programs and resources for students. I’m thrilled to make another gift knowing it will have a lasting impact.”

The Career Services Center will offer career coaching, employer engagement, experiential learning connections and professional development programming, empowering business graduates to secure meaningful career opportunities that align with their skills, interests and aspirations.

Established in 2015 in honor of Fouse’s parents, the Jack and Doris Fouse Study Abroad Program enables UTA students to expand their worldview. This new commitment will provide opportunities for hundreds of additional Mavericks to immerse themselves in international cultures and business practices.

“Jackie Fouse exemplifies what it means to give back with purpose,” UTA President Jennifer Cowley said. “Her generosity delivers transformative educational experiences and strengthens our ability to prepare students for rewarding careers. We are deeply grateful for her belief in UTA and our students.”

College of Business Dean Harry Dombroski said Fouse’s philanthropy will help students graduate with the broad perspective, professional skills and confidence needed to thrive in today’s dynamic economy.

“Jackie’s gift allows the College of Business to significantly enhance the support we provide students as they transition from the classroom to their careers,” he said. “By expanding workplace preparation and increasing access to global engagement, we are equipping students with the skills, experiences and professional connections employers seek and that long-term success demands.”

Fouse was named a UTA Distinguished Alumna in 2004 and inducted into the College of Business Hall of Fame in 2025. She is the board chair and former CEO of Agios Pharmaceuticals.

Her latest commitment builds on a long history of philanthropic leadership at UTA. She previously established the John and Judy Goolsby–Jacqualyn A. Fouse Endowed Chair, the Jacqualyn A. Fouse Endowed Scholarship and the Jacqualyn Fouse Doctoral Program.

A founding member of the College of Business Dean’s Leadership Circle, Fouse also made a gift to create the Dr. Jackie Fouse Connection Court within the College of Business, supporting the renovation of the Business Building.
