UTA Radio took home a trio of Pinnacle Awards at the College Media Association’s 2025 MediaFest. The station placed first in the Best Audio Public Service Announcement category, second in the Best Audio Advertisement category, and second in Audio Outlet of the Year.

“The fact we were the second-best radio station out of all the colleges in America really shows how successful our station is and how well-run we are from top to bottom,” says Jay Jacinto, a broadcasting major who is UTA Radio’s sports director.

The Pinnacle Awards recognize the best student work in collegiate journalism, media production, and organizational excellence. The 2025 awards had a total of 3,358 entries across eight categories.

“We have a really great group of students who work well together, challenge each other, and come up with new ideas to expand our presence,” says Lance Liguez, UTA Radio’s faculty advisor.
