From the President

Dear Mavericks,

Innovation has always been part of who we are at the University of Texas at Arlington. There are moments when this is especially clear.

This is one of those moments. As you'll read, UTA is moving forward with purpose, with new spaces opening doors for our students, new career centers expanding possibilities, and new research strengthening our communities.

You will find innovation even on the pages of this magazine. We've undergone our first major redesign in seven years, and we're proud to present a new look that mirrors the energy and momentum of the modern UTA. We've created more room for more storytelling, focusing on stories that spotlight the Mavericks who are shaping our future.

One of our researchers, Rebecca Maudlin, is studying how nature livestreams help people feel calm and connected to the world around them. Another story focuses on efforts in our history department and UTA Libraries to preserve the fascinating story of Top O' Hill Terrace, an iconic landmark in Arlington. You can also read about the Mavericks who are playing a role on this summer's brightest stage: the World Cup.
