Hospitality Program Launches

Alva Garcia Zamora

When Alva Garcia Zamora enrolled in UTA’s new hospitality program, she was driven more by her interest in the industry than any concrete plans for her future.

“I’ve always been intrigued by hospitality because it’s such a broad, people-centered field,” she says. “It seems like there’s room for almost anyone to find an area that fits their interests.”

Launched in fall 2025, the Hospitality Management program offers a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration designed to build a strong foundation in business management and leadership. Courses cover topics such as hotel and restaurant management, accounting, operations, marketing and sales, event planning, analytics, and information technology.

Both degrees also require at least 300 hours of hospitality work experience. For Zamora, that has included visits to TASTE Community Restaurant and the Loews Hotel in Arlington.

“This program offers constant opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with people from all walks of life,” she says. “It gives you direction, not just knowledge, and that’s what makes it special.”
