Owen Parker, PhD, Interim Ombuds
Owen Parker, PhD, is the Interim Faculty Ombuds at UTA, serving in the role since Summer 2026.
Owen is an Associate Professor of Management and brings over a decade of experience as a faculty member at two major research universities to this position. He has been a faculty member at UT Arlington since 2020, where he teaches the MBA strategy capstone courses. He currently serves as the PhD Coordinator for the Department of Management and has served on the University Interim Curriculum Committee and the University Academic Policy & Standards Working Group since their inception. His service work has centered on curriculum, academic policy, and academic standards at the University, College, and Department levels.
Before his academic career, Owen earned a Master of Social Work and worked extensively in Residence Life offices throughout his time as an undergraduate and master's student at the University of Southern Mississippi, and also facilitated conversations between neighborhoods in one South Mississippi community through his early non-profit work.
