UAB Lot Maintenance

Starting Monday, December 16, 2024, sections of Lot F9 outside the University Administration Building will be closed for necessary maintenance and repairs.
Crews will begin updating the greenbelt area of the UAB lot on Monday, 12/16. Faculty and Staff permit holders should plan accordingly and use the Trinity Lot F6, 30, 34 and F7 for additional parking during this time.

Below is an updated anticipated timeline for the remaining steps:
- Asphalt Installation(In Progress): Fresh asphalt will continue to be laid through the weekend, creating a smooth and durable surface. Asphalt plants will close next week for the winter weather, so the Office of Facilities Management has negotiated to have them remain open to finish our project before the storm arrives.
- Curing (24–48 Hours): Once installed, the asphalt must cure for durability before proceeding with the next steps.
- Striping and Markings: Weather permitting, parking spaces and directional markings are tentatively scheduled to begin when temperatures rise to the minimum substrate temperature for adhesion.
- Lot Reopens to the Public: The reopening is now anticipated to happen Monday, January 27.
- Final Touches: Enhanced lighting and landscaping will be added to complete the lot's enhancements over the next few weeks.
