UTA Launches Bike Loan Program This Fall
Starting in August, UTA is introducing a new Bike Loan Program through the Bike Barn Partnership, a pilot initiative offering semester-long access to reclaimed bicycles and drop-in repair services.
This program supports UTA’s sustainability goals and is a joint effort between Parking & Transportation Services, UTA Libraries, Student Affairs, and the Sustainability Office.
Program Overview
- Who’s eligible? Students enrolled at UTA.
- Loan duration: One semester
- Pick-up and return: All bicycles are due to the Parking & Transportation office before closing time on the day after the last day of finals (“Due Date”).
How to Check Out a Bike
- Submit a request through your MavPark portal by logging in to your MavPark account and select Purchase Permit >> Request to Rent a Bike >> Fall Semester Bike Loan permit.
- This adds you to the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Once a bike is available, Parking staff will send a bike loan agreement for your review and signature to your UTA email address.
- After submitting your agreement, you'll receive an email with the bike number, lock number, and pick up location.
- Find your assigned bike on the rack and unlock it using information contained in your email.
Repair Services
The Bike Barn offers drop-in DIY repair guidance:
- Monday–Friday, 10 AM–3 PM
- Hours may vary based on student staff availability
