Investigate/select different concentrations
Take Data 1301 and if appropriate Math 1421 (Pre-calculus) in first semester. Take Data 3402 and Math 1426 (Calculus I) in second semester.
Make first draft of your four-year plan
Discover the library resources
Attend seminars/colloquia
Consider pursuing a minor or second major from the College of Science.
Meet Data Science advisor and map out your four-year schedule; revise as needed
Mix in core courses to maintain healthy schedule
Consider taking a required science class(es) in summer to maintain schedule flexibility
Find Undergraduate Research and/or Internship opportunity for Capstone project in Senior year.
Join a club, service fraternity/sorority.
Apply for REUs or other summer programs.

Take a leadership position in a club.
The Bachelors of Science in Data Science requires students to select a Science Concentration from one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology. Students graduating with the BS degree will have both expertise in data science as well as their chosen concentration. This will provide students with the ability to enter into industry jobs that require both domain and data science knowledge.
