How to Become a BSSUT Major

Students interested in the BSSUT must first apply to UTA or be a current UTA student and then select or switch to Substance Use & Treatment as your intended major. Once admitted to UTA or already a current UTA student, you must complete the following Substance Use & Treatment requirements before transitioning from Intended-SUT major to an official SUT major:


  1. A “C” or better in all SUT and Social Work courses taken
  2. A Minimum 2.25 overall GPA
  3. Completion of the SUT-Intended coursework and at least 30 hours toward the required Core Curriculum

BSSUT Online Program Overview

Students living in Texas and outside of Texas can complete our BSSUT Online Program.

 

If you are an out-of-state non-Texas resident and completing our BSSUT program online where you reside out-of-state, you will be eligible to receive in-state tuition rates under the Non-Resident Online Distance Education (NRODE) program.  For most out-of-state students this can be a savings of up to 45% on tuition costs.
