How to Apply
Prospective students must apply to UTA, selecting social work as their intended major. Students can start in the fall, spring, or summer, attending classes in person or online.
Scholarships
UTA and SSW offer competitive, merit-based scholarships and various financial aid programs for new, transfer, undergraduate, and graduate students.
Transfer Students
We are a top choice for transfer students, providing clear pathways to enroll in the BSW program. Many of our transfer students can earn both BSW and MSW degrees within three years.

Program Overview
Learn what to expect and what the program offers.
BSW students complete 60 hours of social work coursework, including social work specific electives. They also earn a minimum of 400 hours in practicum through a social work internship. Learn more about the degree plan.

Social Work is one of the broadest career paths available. BSW students earn credit toward their master’s degree while completing their bachelor’s degree. Practicum is the signature experience of the BSW—where students move beyond theory and step into the role of a social worker.
