Project MALES Selects Ph.D. Candidate for Graduate Scholars Program

Trevor McCray headshotDoctoral student Trevor McCray has been selected as one of four scholars for the University of Texas at Austin Project MALES (Mentoring to Achieve Latino Educational Success) 2021-22 Graduate Scholars Program.
 
Nominated by UT Arlington College of Education Assistant Professor Dr. Jennifer Bailey, McCray will use his time in the program to advance research of educational outcomes of boys and men of color.
 
"I am sincerely grateful for this recognition and appreciate all of the support and wisdom the college faculty have poured into me," said McCray, who is pursing a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, about his selection.
 
McCray will also receive a $500 award to support his research and be assigned a faculty mentor from within the Project MALES Faculty/Research Affiliates network.
 
"This is a prestigious opportunity to advance the field and his professional growth," said Bailey, his dissertation chair. "I'm excited to see the tremendous impact this journey will have on his own research and how it will influence his future endeavors."
