Seventy-nine undergraduate engineering students earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages and 265 were named to the dean’s list for the recently completed spring semester.
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering Departments, the College’s largest, had 83 and 82 students, respectively, named to the list. Twenty-five students in CSE and 21 in MAE earned perfect GPAs.
“Each of these students has shown a great deal of hard work and dedication, and I offer my sincere congratulations to them for earning this honor. Congratulations, also, to the 79 students who earned 4.0 grade-point averages. This is a very special distinction,” said Peter E. Crouch, dean of the College of Engineering.
To be named to the Dean's List, a student must major in one of the COE undergraduate programs, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 and have at least 45 cumulative credit hours, of which at least 24 (letter-graded) were earned at UTA.
UTA's College of Engineering is the third-largest in Texas and its six undergraduate departments boast the most comprehensive offerings in North Texas. The College, which was ranked tied for #105 in the 2017 U.S. News and World Report Undergraduate Rankings, awards bachelor’s degrees in 11 areas. Nearly 4,000 of the College’s 7,248 students are undergraduates.
The College also offers graduate degrees in 14 master’s and nine doctoral areas of focus.
