Broadcast student lands internship with City of Arlington at Comm Day.
ARLINGTON, Texas - Maryanne Obialasor, 2018 broadcast alumna, began an internship with the city of Arlington’s Office of Communication during the fall 2018 semester.
The internship had her developing and creating content for the city’s weekend news segment, “Weekend Buzz.”
“I learned so much from everything, literally everything you get to do in school like e-news, TV reporting, I did all of that there.” Obialasor said.
Obialasor got the internship after discovering Arlington’s Office of Communication studios, when her corporate video class toured the city offices at the beginning of the fall 2018 semester.
“After that, I heard they were coming to Communications Day fest,” Obialasor said. “I had my resume and my business card ready to speak to them.”
Two days later she interviewed of the internship and hired.
