Dr. Otu Inyang, Director of Environmental Health & Safety

Dr. Otu Inyang assumed leadership of the UTA Office of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) in 2022. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Inyang has dedicated his career to advancing the value and impact of Environmental Health & Safety through program development, strategic implementation, and cross-campus collaboration. His leadership continues to strengthen UTA’s commitment to a safe, healthy, and sustainable campus environment.

Dr. Inyang holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Environmental Health from the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston and a Master of Science in Health Physics from Texas A&M University in College Station. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

He is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and holds multiple professional credentials, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and Certified Laser Safety Officer (CLSO).
