CAREER Awards

One of the most prestigious awards available for early-career faculty is the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program, or CAREER, award. Given to those who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education, CAREER awards are highly coveted and highly competitive.

Over the past several years, UT Arlington faculty members have experienced great success earning such honors, with six receiving CAREER grants in 2023 alone.

“CAREER award winners are often considered the best and brightest in academic research,” says Vice President for Research and Innovation Kate C. Miller. “It is a tribute to the outstanding caliber of our faculty and their research that the NSF funded so many UTA research projects.”

The 2023 winners were Engin Arslan, Remi Chou, Shirin Nilizadeh, and Allison Sullivan from computer science and engineering; and Narges “Nora” Shayesteh Moghaddam and Shuo Linda Wang from mechanical and aerospace engineering.
