Café Career Prep
UTA is launching the first student-led experiential learning café in Texas.
Located in the UTA Bookstore, the café will be transformed into a fully student-led business through the Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform. Each term, students will take paid and credit-bearing roles within the café, including a CEO position, allowing them to make real decisions with real consequences—and develop real workforce experience.
“When the work is real, the learning is deeper,” says Tamara Brown, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “This partnership highlights our efforts to embed high-impact, experiential learning across the University and connect academic work to real-world application.”
The café will hold its grand opening on Aug. 12 during Maverick Stampede, the kickoff to the fall semester.
