UTA vaccination site

Tarrant County, in partnership with University of North Texas Health Science Center, has opened a COVID-19 vaccination site at The University of Texas at Arlington, The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fox 4 News, NBC 5, KERA 90.1, KLIF-AM and KRLD-AM reported. The site is open to the public and increases access to the vaccine for residents in southeast Tarrant County and members of the UTA community.

Battlefield brain injuries

Michael Cho, chair of the Department of Bioengineering, is investigating whether a combination of nanoparticles and light therapy can better treat traumatic brain injuries on the battlefield, Bioengineer.org, The Medical News and Scienmag reported. Cho’s research is funded by a three-year, $794, 503 grant from the Office of Naval Research.

CAPPA Ranking

The accelerated online public administration master’s program within the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Arlington was ranked No. 20 in the nation overall and No. 1 for the lowest tuition according to Great Value Colleges, Mirage News reported.

Small-scale farming

The Texas Center for Local Food in Elgin, Texas, is working to understand and solve logistics problems for small family farms through a UT Arlington grant funded by the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education program, Stone Pier Press reported. Caroline Krejci, a UT Arlington assistant professor in the Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Department, is leading the project.
